2012 SUMMER WORKSHOP FOR STUDENTS

In the summer of 2011, we conducted an eight week free academic work shop that was attended by over 20 students from grade 11 & 12. The course was conducted by Dr. S. Sundararajan PhD covering Mathematics & Chemistry of the Ontario high school curriculum.

The workshop provided an opportunity to improve in-depth understanding and prepare students for the upcoming level of academic studies.

The in-class exercises, homework and test benefited the enthusiastic students in improving knowledge and application skills and provided a strong foundation for the ensuing academic year. The phenomenal level of success and achievement were made possible due to your overwhelming support and encouragement.

Based on the positive response and demand, we intend on hosting a similar academic workshop during summer 2012 starting in the first week of July until end of August 2012. This year we are planning to offer workshops in Mathematics, Chemistry & Physics in the following curriculum subject to a minimum of 6 confirmed participants per session:

. Ontario curriculum
· IB curriculum
.

The workshop will be conducted subject to a minimum of 6 students per session. Therefore, please forward this information to family and friends who may be interested in this workshop.

This workshop is offered by Dr. S. Sundararajan as honorary service (no remuneration) and a minimum donation of 50$ per subject is recommended towards the temple building fund. Please communicate your interest by completing the questionnaire before May 30th, 2012. Based on the interest, workshop sessions will be planned and communicated in the first week of June 2012 to enable planning of summer vacation.

Guruvayurappan Temple of Brampton Celebrated Vishu with Vishu kani and Vishu Kaineettam

Guruvayurappan Temple of Brampton celebrated Vishu on April 14 at the Temple. Many devotees offered prayers at Guruvayurappan Temple of Brampton on the Vishu day, looking ahead to a season of prosperity and harmony. At the Vishu pulari (the dawn of the Vishu day), the devotees visited the temple to have an auspicious sight or "Vishukkani" and begin this New Year on an auspicious note.

The temple gave coins to all the devotees as the customary `Vishu kaineettam.' Thus begins another prosperous and splendid New Year!

Adopt-A-Park Partnership Program

The greenery and scenic beauty of parks and trails contributes to the quality of our life by providing us a link to nature in a typical overwhelming, urban setting. To nourish and cherish these green beauties, the city of Brampton provides opportunities to families, neighbourhoods, not for profit organizations, businesses and individuals through the “Adopt-A-Park Program”
