AKSHAYA THRITIYA—Sunday May 12 th


Akshaya Thritiya falls on Sunday May 12 th. “Akshaya” that which never diminishes, is a very auspicious day as per the Hindu calendar and falls on the 3rd day of the lunar month of Vaikasi. The day is generally observed by fasting and worship of lord VASUDEVA.It is believed that fasting on this occasion will bring prosperity and good health. Any Venture initiated or valuables bought on this day are considered to bring success and good fortune.Gold and gold jewelery bought and worn on this day signify never diminishing good fortune. The following is the schedule of events planned for the day.

6.00 AM --- Nirmalyam and Abhishekam --- Co-sponsor $ 25.00

9.00 AM – Sahasranama Archana and Srisooktham Archana (Co-sponsor $15)

5.30 PM -- Sahasranama Archana and Srisooktham Archana (Co-sponsor $15)

6.30 PM – Bhajana

7.30 PM – Deeparadhana.

SREE KRISHNA SANGEETHOLSAVAM


The temple will be conducting the second "SANGEETHOLSAVAM"  at the Temple on May 18thand 19th(SATURDAY & SUNDAY) from 8.30 AM to 6.00 PM in multiple sessions of one hour each. Each participant will be having about 10 to 15 minutes. You can choose any session of your choice if available. There will be uptp 5 participants in each session.

The Event is open to all age groups and is mainly intended to provide an opportunity for students / Teachers and aspiring young artists of Carnatic music - Vocal & instrumental to dedicate their talent to Sree Guruvayurappan and seek his blessings. Additionally this event will provide a forum for showcasing the young talents of our community.  

Carnatic music Teachers and parents are requested to encourage their students and children to participate in making this event a grand success.
 
To register for this event, please fill out the REGISTRATION FORM (Click Here) before May 1st, 2013. The schedule will be communicated by May 15th2013.
