Bhajan - A Kid Friendly Zone!
Every 3rd Sunday of the month, an hour and a half before Deeparadhana (check Temple Hours), all devotees, especially children are encouraged to join us at the Temple in singing bhajans. The main organisers behind this try to put kids in focus, giving them opportunities to learn, sing and lead our prayers. This commenced in January 2011 and has become very popular amongst the adults too - so no age restrictions in order to participate!
The group did their first public performance on July 2nd 2011, during the auspicious Bhagavatha Sapthaham conducted by the Temple. This was followed by invitations to participate at other temples including a recital before Swami Udit Chaitanya.
If you would like to get more information about this bhajan group, please contact Sushil Parapurath sparapurat@hotmail.com
For information on equally beautiful bhajan-sessions taking place on other Sundays by other devotees, please contact the Temple.
Yuvatma
"Yuvatma”, an organisation of many temple going youth and their friends have shown an interest in the temple activities and learning about our culture and heritage. Thirumeni and Mr.Bhaskaran Menon, Executive Director have been their contacts.
”Yuvatma” meticulously organized a picnic that was a tremendous success. They have also supported temple events like the Ayyappa pooja in December 2010 by organising a Kids Activity Corner to keep the young ones occupied during the pooja. On June 18th 2011 they presented a Keralite Art Mela which had besides food and games, interactive learning booths. It was heart warming to see the dedication they had put into organising the mela. We are proud of them.
It is our endeavour to get our youth interested and involved in the temple activities and train them to assume leadership roles in the years to come.
